Struggling to read, spell, or write, even after tuition and tutors?

It might not be about effort or intelligence. Children with Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, Dyspraxia or other SpLDs often see letters and sounds differently, and need a method built around how they learn.

In this 60-minute masterclass, Juliana breaks down what's really happening beneath the surface when a child struggles with literacy, and how the Alpha to Omega programme from Dyslexia Action UK helps children read, spell and write with confidence.

What Is Alpha to Omega?

Alpha to Omega has been used since 1974, created by Bevé Hornsby and Frula Shear. It's a structured, phonological reading, writing and spelling programme where writing, reading, spelling and checking all happen together, not in isolation. It starts by mapping individual letters to their exact sounds, then layers in reading, spelling and grammar rules.

This multi-sensory approach targets the root cause of common mix-ups — like reversing b and d or misreading "should" as "shout" — at the source, not just through repetition.
